Celebrate Acadian Culture With "Clarevoyance"

Le Congrès Mondial Acadien (The Acadian World Congress) is a festival of Acadian and Cajun culture and history held every five years in different places in North America. The latest festival is happening now in Southwest Nova Scotia, which is a great time to highlight an awesome Acadian based game set in the region, "Clarevoyance"!

"Clarevoyance", released in 2020, is a fantasy adventure game by Nova Scotian game developer Fring Frang (Chad Comeau) set in the Acadian region of Clare, Nova Scotia. In the game, you are visiting your aunt and uncle for the summer in Clare when you are pulled into a grand mystery where the folklore of the region's past is coming to life. Comeau worked with the actual residents of Clare and surrounding area to provide the character images and voice acting, fully voiced in their Acadian dialect.

You can purchase the game digitally on Steam and Itch.io

There is also a special physical edition which includes a Steam key along with a treasure trove of collectibles, all packaged in a screen printed pizza box! Included are a CD soundtrack, 175 page companion book, art print, sticker, pin and a letter from the

Federal Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie Mélanie Joly.

As of the writing of this post, you can still order your own physical edition from the Acadian Society of Clare. The Archive has acquired one of these physical editions and you can view a few of the contents currently in the "Ready to Play" exhibit at the Nova Scotia Museum of Industry.

Be sure to check out "Clarevoyance" as well as Comeau's other incredibly creative games, such as "Donair Academy."

Thank you for reading!
